Mill Valley, Ca
I started looking for the history of Heath sage green dinner ware; a special gift to my grand parents for their 40 th anniversary from their children.
The time was April 5, 1951, and we lived in Mill Valley, thus I had a child's memory of going to a pottery place in Sausalito to give someone my grandparents "cattle brand" and it was then placed on the cup and saucer of the sage green dinner sets. I also remember thinking I like that lovely blue color of a very large platter my aunt had made, why did they pick green for Nana?
I was delighted to discover the beautiful website and some of the Heath history. I now have the Heath set of dishes and there were times in my life when the heavy box of dishes almost went the way things do when it is one more heavy box to move. What saved the box each time was the dishes were special, they had the family "brand" that came with my family to CA. in 1850 - and now those dishes are 56 years young, with many miles to travel yet.
Thank you, your Heath site is just lovely and if my dishes ever need a good home they belong with you and the Heath family history. Have you ever had people tell you the dishes make good meals, healthy. I do not know what it is about the set of dishes but they ask for good healthy fresh California food.
Thanks for saving Heath quality - some good things in life get better.
