Based on a plaster cast of an actual stone this elegant piece has been shaped to resemble a little bird. The surface features a gradient of mottled blue and gray glazes. As part of Design Series 6 this piece was created from the desire to challenge and invigorate the slipcasting and mold making process at Heath.

Designed and handcrafted by Tung Chiang in the Heath Clay Studio in San Francisco, CA.

Design Series began in 2013 as a creative pursuit. With clay as his medium, Tung Chiang explores a singular subject each year that culminates in a show and sale of his work. Throughout its eight years, several of his ideas have informed Heath's everyday product lines, from new shapes to dynamic glazes.
