Funnel Bowl with Ridge

5" H, 5.5" dia.

A small bowl with a subtle gradient of pale green to steel gray. The bowl tapers from a small elegant pedestal foot then quickly transitions to a flare out to the rim. Revisiting ideas from Design Series 6: Making Small. The Design Series is an opportunity for Clay Studio Director Tung Chiang to create a collection of objects exploring a singular idea or theme every year. The ideas have ranged from shapes like candleholders, concepts like “Forming Fables” or techniques like glaze chemistry. To make this set of pieces Tung took the opportunity to revisit the ideas of Design Series past to create a retrospective of brand new pieces.
