Why choose stoneware for your serveware?

Stoneware is durable and chip-resistant, making it great for everyday use. Bone china tableware and porcelain tableware are much more delicate and break easily. Also, stoneware is earthy and beautiful, which elevates your dining table whether it’s used daily or reserved for special occasions.

Heath stoneware serving dishes are safe for the microwave, oven, and dishwasher (with some precautions). Additionally, your Heath stoneware tableware is made with natural clay, containing none of the chemicals associated with melamine dinnerware and other mass-produced serveware. Phew!

Which serveware is essential for entertaining?

Ceramic serveware from Heath includes all of the dishes you need for hosting—serving platters and trays, serving bowls, and covered serving dishes—as well as a range of tabletop accessories. We can’t teach you how to throw a great party, but we can give you all the tools you’ll need to get started.

Serving Bowls: Choose from a wide selection of serving bowls to suit all of your go-to dishes. Heath’s serving bowls a designed to wear a lot of hats (pasta bowl, salad bowl, dip bowl...)—keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to improvise!

What utensils can I use with ceramic serveware?

Stoneware serving dishes are best paired with utensils made from stainless steel, natural wood (such as the cherry wood salad servers), or other gentle materials. Ceramic serveware is typically harder than the soft metals used in most flatware—just avoid silver-plated and sterling silver cutlery. In most cases, markings from flatware are not scratched into the surface of your stoneware, and can be easily buffed out using Bar Keeper’s Friend.

Does stoneware break easily?

Stoneware dishes are very resilient. Nonetheless, you should always take care when handling, washing, and storing your beloved Heath serving dishes, serving bowls, and drinkware.

Stoneware dinnerware sets are dishwasher safe. Make sure to use gentle detergents and run your dishwasher on a light cycle for best results. Be sure to avoid rinse aids (which may damage your stoneware’s glaze), and try to avoid contact between dishes when loading your dishwasher.
