Pieces of Chij dishware display the unmistakable finishes of Amatengo del Valle—a village in the mountains of Chiapas, Mexico. The cool grey tone and smooth, semi-matte surface of the piece is a hallmark of the materials and techniques endemic to the region. This teapot also features sculptural bird motifs in the handle and lid.

This item is not dishwasher or microwave safe. Avoid exposing the piece to sudden and dramatic changes in temperature. Wash your pieces carefully by hand with a mild soap before using them for the first time and every time after that. Put away only after the piece is completely dry. It's normal for these pieces to sweat a little when you first start using them. If this happens, soak your pieces for 24 hours in saltwater. For vases and pitchers, use a dish or a coaster underneath to ensure any excess moisture in the piece doesn’t seep into the surface underneath. Do not keep the piece filled with water for more than 3 days at a time.
