This brand new collection from Cedric Mitchell is the culmination of an exploratory journey through glass. Recent artist residencies gave Cedric the opportunity to slow down and spend time having fun with the material. Through this playful process he's created brand new techniques and modes of expression. This piece is part of a series exploring spiral caning techniques. The caning is incredibly labor-intensive to make as each individual stripe of glass has to be fused together into a larger workable mass. Cedric then pushed the limits of the material by blowing the fused canes into large vessels with dramatic forms. This collection is available exclusively through Heath Ceramics online only.
