          Mexican-American artist Carolina Jimenez calls her woven works “monuments”—to memory, bodies, and daily life. She weaves each piece by hand from natural fibers dyed using tradition Oaxacan methods and fibers she dyes herself. The visual quality of each piece is a testament to her exploration of color, tension, and material. For Jimenez this series of pieces reflects moments and remembrances at La Jolla Shores in San Diego, CA. In her words “moments of heightened awareness of my own embodiment in an unknowable place.” This collection was commissioned for our Summer Seasonal Collection is available exclusively online through Heath.
