Yes, it's true - we're coming to the historic San Francisco Ferry Building in April 2010.

Beginning in April, Heath will be among some of the Bay Area’s best organic, artisanal retailers and restaurants at our Ferry Building location. As you may know, the Marketplace is bustling with tourists, commuters and locavores alike - the ideal venue for our wares, manufactured just across the Bay in Sausalito. Our products, history and philosophy are a natural fit with the historic Ferry Building, as well as many of the local shops and restaurants located within - The Slanted Door and Hog Island Oyster Bar both serve on Heath dinnerware.

“We are excited to expand our presence into San Francisco,” says Heath Ceramics Creative Director and Co-Owner Catherine Bailey. “The Ferry Building’s unique mix of local and artisanal retailers and restaurants represents the best of Northern California. We are a design-driven, family-owned company and our primary goal is to be a local manufacturer of high quality products. We’ve always wanted to be more accessible to our San Francisco customer, and this is the perfect match”

Our newest space is being designed by our favorite Los Angeles interior design firm Commune, also responsible for Heath LA.

While the shop is only about 500 sf, a monitor with a live-feed of our Sausalito factory will allow visitors to feel like they are right there, watching as our pieces are made. If that taste of production leaves you wanting more, we'll be coordinating our weekend factory tours with the ferry schedule from San Francisco. Hop on, enjoy a ride across the water to Sausalito. Visit our Factory and Store, hop back on the ferry and end up right back where you started, only a couple of hours later.

We will be located next door to the delicious desserts at Miette, and across from locally-roasted Blue Bottle Coffee. We'll offer our complete line of wares, along with batches of seconds, freshly picked and delivered to the Ferry Building each week.

We'll keep you posted as details take shape - we look forward to seeing you...
