Summer Seasonal 2021 has Arrived
This season’s collection reflects pausing and observing the color blue in nature. A simple, vibrant palette inspired by water and sky, two elements where blue’s intensity is both energizing and relieving. Into the Blue, Summer Seasonal 2021 is built upon the legacy of Moonstone, a Heath glaze celebrating its 50th anniversary. Complementing Moonstone are Bright Blue, a high-impact light blue color rivaling the deep blues of Moonstone, and Glacier, adding softness and subtlety to the palette.
Heath’s special technique glazes create the illusion of horizon lines, the gentlest of gradients to create a seamless transition of blues, appropriately named Moonstone Horizon and Dark Moon Horizon. One glossy and one matte, one textured and one smooth, reflecting the ever-changing blues of nature from water’s fine ripples to the wave’s dense foam.
Contributing to the collection a unique interpretation of Into the Blue, the Heath Clay Studio combines iconic glaze techniques and hand-thrown shapes with their exploration of this season’s theme. Universe, a dark blue, bordering on purple, with delicate multi-hued speckles creates depth and a sense of otherworldliness, pushing the boundaries of what we know.
