Yuko Kan at Playmountain East

Born in Kyoto, Japan, Yuko Kan earned a masters degree in sculpture from Tama Art University, where she began working on woodblock printing. In 2016, discovered her fascination with wood sculpting, exploring woodblock prints and carvings. She continues to create Yuko’s whimsical world using wood carvings and wood block prints. Her work can be found in numerous solo and group shows across Japan.

Erica Tanov Nature Talk and Book Signing

“Nature Talk”, moderated by Sarah Lonsdale, co-founder of Remodelista and author of “Foraged Flora”, brings together in conversation Lifestyle Designer Erica Tanov, Preserve Maker and Confectioner June Taylor, and Photographer Ngoc Minh Ngo at Heath SF. Each of their work is a clear reflection of their reverence and deep love of the natural world. For Erica, nature is what begins her design process and surfaces as vibrant textiles. As a preserve maker and confectioner, June nourishes with what nature provides. In her photography of landscapes and interiors, Ngoc muses upon her immense love for organic beauty. “Nature Talk” seeks to illuminate the ways in which nature informs their work and how we all might refocus our eyes to the changing beauty of the natural world.

Yoko Takahashi photo exhibition SANDY HEAT, WHITE LAND

Yoko Takahashi travels the world and visually documents daily life, capturing common moments across all languages and cultures. She is especially enchanted with Russia and Eastern Europe. Yoko’s focus on color and subtle hues draws out the serenity and emotional beauty of the images. You can find her work in Ontario, and her books of photography, including SAWA SAWA, Georgia On My Mind, and EAST SIDE HOTEL. Yoko relocated to the Bay Area in 2010, and lives and works in San Francisco.
