Before and after each use, apply a thin layer of vegetable oil to the cooking surface. Preheat the pan slowly before adding food. Hand wash pan with hot water and a stiff nylon brush; don’t use soap or harsh detergents. Dry thoroughly.

The best way to season your pan is to cook with it. Over time it will become evenly seasoned and black. If you want to quicken the process, put some drops of cooking oil and spread thinly with a paper towel all over the pan. Put the pan over the stove at high heat for ten minutes. After the pan cools completely, repeat the process three more times.
