Sarah Wertzberger is an artist and designer whose work emerges through investigations in woven structures, color relationships, and material experimentation. This handwoven piece blends cotton and polyester into a pattern referencing early 2000s home weavers who experimented with computer-aided looms to create curves and blurs—visual effects that are rare in handloom weaving. The visual language is also informed by iridescent polar stratospheric clouds, giving the work a shifting, luminous quality as the light changes.

Wipe edge of frame with lint free cloth.

Material: Jacquard weaving of cotton and polyester fibers, mounted on wooden panel and set into a Maple wood frame.
Size: 13" W x 18" H
Handwoven in Portland, OR.

The polyester used in the piece was sourced from seasonal waste yarn from the footwear industry. These industrial leftovers bring a unique palette that plays a central role in the work.
