Antonia Placemat in Green and Papel

These placemats are meticulously handwoven by skilled artisans in a range of natural fibers including jute and espadín, an agave fiber. The resulting natural coarseness gives these placemats a durable texture. The colors of the fibers were chosen to complement the natural, earthy tones of our Winter Seasonal collection. Understated and textural they pair naturally with the exposed clay of some of the unglazed dinnerware from the collection. They're Perfect for daily use, intimate gatherings, and low key entertaining.

This is a delicate piece, please handle with care. Dry clean recommended. In case you would like to hand wash, soak it in cold water with a mild soap, without wringing, then rinse well, and let it dry on top of a towel. Air dry flat so the piece does not lose its shape. In case of wrings or wavy edges, iron under a towel. Do not use any chemical product, to prevent colors from fading. In case of stains, clean right away by dabbing with a wet cloth. For oil stains, cover the stain with baby powder (talc), and let it absorb the oil before washing it. Do not use a dryer.

Madda Studio works hard to reduce waste and reuse as many materials as possible in their process. This includes making dye from collecting marigolds from altars after the celebration of Dia de Los Muertos in November to using leftover yarn to make rugs.
