Copper Wave Basket

This basket is hand-crafted from copper wire using a combination of kiku-dashi (chrysanthemum pattern) and kikko-ami (tortoise shell netting) weaving techniques. This piece features a wave-like curved rim that gives different impressions depending on how you view it. Use it to hold everything from fruit to bread or anything else you can think of. Copper takes on an amber hue through continued use resulting in a lovely patina over time.

Hand wash only. This piece is neither dishwasher nor microwave safe. Do not wash with a metal scrubbing brush or polishing powder as they may scratch the wire. After use, drain thoroughly and dry before storing. The copper will develop a patina over time.

Kanaami-Tsuji uses time-honored hand-weaving techniques, such as kiku-dashi (chrysanthemum pattern) and kikko-ami (tortoise shell netting). The two weaving patterns are traditionally used for tofu servers and tea strainers. The designs are both timeless and contemporary with intricate wiring-patterns resulting in elegant, jewelry-like kitchen accessories.
